At Garden Waco we design and build native plant landscapes. We seek to showcase the beauty of our region, its textures, seasons, wildlife, and resilience, while creating spaces that are thoughtfully adapted to each client’s lifestyle. Ponds, pathways, playscapes, and most especially plants create ecosystems for our clients and all living things to inhabit. Since human wellbeing and environmental wellbeing are deeply connected, we help our clients flourish by living within their environment rather than above it.
Using a shovel was not foreign to Christian Tucker, owner of Garden Waco, his grandfathers and dad had him working the soil since he could walk. When he founded the company the goal was to overhaul the designer landscape community with the environmentally-sound principles he learned at University of Colorado. It is easy to find him at the jobsite because he will be the one talking. However if he is not at the jobsite then you will find Garden Waco’s lead designer Rianna Alvarado implementing the project vision. Rianna began her journey into the garden when she learned that healthy living starts outdoors, growing food for her family and wildlife. Today Rianna blends her artistry, respect for place, and love of the natural world to invite her clients to step into a living story. They have taught classes to people of all ages about how to garden with the entire ecosystem in mind. The result of their collaboration is landscapes that are unique, beautiful, functional, environmentally responsible, and increasingly alive over time.
